Community Commitment
At the core of ZymoGenetics is serving and making a real difference in the community in which we live and work. We enthusiastically share our talents, time and resources. We encourage employees to give back to the community through our “Volunteer Spirit” program. Our commitment to the community is evident. To inspire and enable the scientists of tomorrow, ZymoGenetics scientists volunteer to mentor students in programs such as the Student Biotech Expo and Bryant Elementary School Science Fair. ZymoGenetics donates new and used lab equipment to local schools, provides summer internships for undergraduate students, and offers school group tours to introduce students to opportunities in science. Beyond science, we are involved in healthcare and social service agencies, and our annual employee charity auction raises much needed funds for local nonprofit agencies.
Environmental Stewards
ZymoGenetics is concerned about and committed to the environment. We are environmentally responsible and strive to reduce our waste and energy consumption. We encourage employees to use alternate commuting methods and have numerous diverse programs in place to reduce/reuse/recycle and prevent pollution. We continually monitor technologies and trends and strive to implement programs to reduce ZymoGenetics' carbon footprint and be a better environmental steward.

In May 2009, ZymoGenetics received the Washington State Department of Transportation Pacesetter Award for outstanding commitment to commute trip reduction.

In 2006 and 2008, Deloitte & Touche named ZymoGenetics as a “Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Pacific Northwest Company”.

In July 2007, ZymoGenetics received the Washington State Department of Transportation Diamond Award as a participant of the Commute Trip Reduction program.
